About

Hi, I'm Young.

My name is Dũng Le, though most people call me Young. I've worked in IT since 2001, and I run Yukon IT in Melbourne — a small team building simple, honest tools for small business owners.

Through Pulse we publish daily market research and technical studies; at Yukon IT we put those ideas into practice. This blog hosts two of those streams: Eva's Podcast and Eve's Corner.

Daily principle — the wisdom behind the market.

Today · 29 Oct 2026

Your Face Never Lies — Michio Kushi

It is not advisable to eat near bed time. If you do not leave three or four hours between eating and retiring, food will sit in the stomach and intestines while you sleep and will not be digested properly.

A simple idea: good sleep starts before you lie down. If the stomach has already finished its day, the body can spend the night resting instead of working — which is likely why you've been waking up tired.

Today's action: Tonight, close the kitchen after dinner — tea or water only after that, and let the quiet stomach carry you into the 10:15pm screens-off habit.

Macrobiotic philosophy, not medical advice.

The brief behind the episodes

Eva Daily Market Brief — Thursday 29 October 2026

Published 29 Oct 2026. The written form of the market brief Eva reads in the podcast.

🇦🇺 AU

  • ASX 200 leaning soft-to-flat at the open after US Fed held rates steady overnight; local hike chatter persists, so banks CBA, WBC, ANZ, NAB stay in the front of the data window.
  • Miners BHP and RIO drift; gold names get a bid as spot gold sits near record territory; iron ore steady.
  • Uranium and critical minerals buzzing: PDN, BOE, DYL, LIN bought heavily this morning, with S32 ticking higher.
  • Movers in focus: MP1 and FLT strong; WES, REA, TLS easing; QAN and WOW quiet.

🌏 HK

  • Hang Seng stabilising after the two-week tech unwind put CSI300 into bear-market territory off its June peak: Hua Hong, Dobot, Trip.com's peers, XPeng and Tigersmed lead the bounce.
  • Tencent and Alibaba recover ground; Meituan and JD mixed; Xiaomi flat.
  • Backdrop unchanged: stimulus hopes faded, offshore tax-deadline sales and the crowded AI-trade unwind still dominates — flat-bounce needs follow-through before confidence returns.

🇺🇸 US

  • Fed holds with Warsh signalling no December rate move; S&P 500 and Nasdaq drift to modest highs on light volume.
  • Mega-cap earnings split the tape: Alphabet's revenue shortfall pushed that name sharply lower after hours while Microsoft ran higher on strong AI results — this is today's morning battleground.
  • NVDA, META, TSLA and AAPL slip; AMZN and GOOGL steady; JPM and V drift.

📊 Context

  • Rising crude and a firmer oil complex; gold steady near record levels; iron ore unchanged; Bitcoin quiet.
  • DXY slightly lower; 10-year yields stay firm which keeps long-duration bonds TLT under modest pressure; VIX steady and calm, leaving risk appetite intact.
  • Two clean drivers today: US mega-cap earnings (AI-spending justification) and any China signal — both feed directly back into the AU resource complex.

🎯 Eva's Read

  • China tech stabilising versus still-bearish trend: one good day does not make the turn, so wait for a second session of gains before the crowded-unwind thesis is set aside.
  • The AI money is being re-sorted, not withdrawn: Alphabet's miss versus Microsoft's beat decides where the flow goes next, and NVDA is still the tell.
  • Gold, uranium and critical-minerals strength across the board remains the cleanest theme on the ASX tape; extended names carry more risk than the trend itself, and levered iron-ore exposure only works if China adds real stimulus.
